Best EdgeStar Wine Cooler
The EdgeStar 18 Bottle Built In Wine Cooler
- Finish: Stainless steel with wood shelving
- Size: 34.25” H x 12” W x 23” D – 66 lbs.
- Temperature Zone: 40 F – 65 F
Pros:
- Temperature Control and Management
- Stainless Steel with Wood
- Small Footprint
Cons:
- Storage Capacity
The EdgeStar 18 Bottle Built In Wine Cooler is a great fit for small settings. This unit features a digital temperature control that allows for pinpoint accuracy in a range between 40 degrees and 65 degrees Fahrenheit, double paned glass for added insulation, and powerful fans to keep the air circulating for an even temperature throughout the unit.
The ultra-slim and space efficient design measures only 12 inches in width, allowing for easy installation under a counter space, or as a freestanding unit that can be place with ease due to its small footprint.
The EdgeStar 18 is not without issue, however. The shelves are designed to accommodate 750ml bottles of wine that are standard Bordeaux style (diameter of 2.75 inches).
If you attempt to place bottles of a larger diameter, they will not fit without removing some shelving. This can be a major drawback to some, especially when considering the price tag.
Still if you keep in-between the lines, this will provide ample storage and look seamless when built into the underneath of the countertop. I rate this Edge Star wine cooler a 8 out of 10 for its appearance, size and, albeit limited, storage capacity.
The EdgeStar 36 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler
- Finish: Stainless steel
- Size: 34” H x 23” W x 24” D – 100 lbs.
- Temperature Zone: 40 F – 65 F/ 40 F – 65 F
Pros:
- Stainless steel
- External controls
- Dual Zone
- French Doors
Cons:
- Thin vent plate
- Maintenance
The EdgeStar 36 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler is an attractive piece perfectly fit for the modern kitchen. LED backlighting showcases your wine collection, easily viewed through glass French doors.
A stainless steel casing and stainless accents on the wooden tray inserts provide a touch of cleanliness that is both easy to clean, as well as strong.
This EdgeStar wine cooler features external temperature controls for each wine fridge, allowing for easy adjustment without the need to open the door and crouch down, with each temperature zone having the same temp range- allowing for multiple varieties of wine.
The EdgeStar is well respected, but not without issue. The vent plate on the bottom of the fridge is thin and can be bent during shipping.
Also, maintenance can be an issue, especially after it is installed into a cabinet space. Lack of space when installed can be an issue that will keep some service providers away, with others refusing to work on the product altogether.
The EdgeStar runs quietly, but is prone to the occasional seal or temperature problem as well, so I strongly recommend buying an extended warranty plan that lasts longer than the one-year factory warranty to protect you in the event of mishap.
Altogether, the Edge Star 36 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler is a great product. You get French doors, an attractive dual zone display, external control, and stainless steel for a reasonable price. With an extended warranty, this is one of the best dual zone wine coolers available on the market today, and I rate this product an 8 out of 10.
The EdgeStar 110 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler
- Finish: Stainless steel
- Size: 55” H x 24” W x 27” D – 180 lbs.
- Temperature Zone: 41 F – 54 F/ 54 F – 64 F
Pros:
- Stainless steel
- Dual Zone
- Double paned tempered glass
- Quiet
Cons:
- Weight
- Tight shelving
The EdgeStar 100 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler is one of the largest wine coolers that EdgeStar makes.
This EdgeStar wine cooler features stainless steel and double paned tempered glass for easy access, as well as UV protection. The EdgeStar also features rubber bushings to cut down on vibration from the condenser, keeping the machine very quiet.
Just be careful with how low you run this EdgeStar wine cooler. Running on the lowest temperature setting for an extended amount of time can result in a build up of condensation and eventually ice in the back of the cooler.
It is also extremely heaving, weighing in at 180 lbs. This makes it at least a 2 person job to bring into one’s house and install, and it is highly recommended that you consider purchasing the “Include Assembly” option, having a licensed Amazon affiliate come out with the unit to help bring it in and put everything together. Trust us, your back will thank you.
EdgeStar also suffers from the same fate as other EdgeStar products; with wine racks built specifically for 2.75” diameter wine bottles.
This unit is big enough that removing a tray or two won’t significantly hurt your storage needs (unless you really do have over 100 bottles to store). So keep bottle size in mind when considering this purchase.
I really like this unit for its size, control, and customizability, and rate it a 9 out of 10. For anyone serious about keeping their wine safe and accessible, the EdgeStar 110 bottle is for you.
